Can you see me now? PDF Print Write e-mail

Jacey had an appointment with the eye specialist today. She really hates going there. I can't blame her I wouldn't like going as much as she does either. They always have to dialate both her eyes then she is blind for the rest of the day. The good news is there has been no change in the mystery spot. The bad news (and it really isn't bad) is he is still not sure what or why it is. Out of all of Jacey's doctors he is my hands down favorite. He seems more concerned about Jacey's comfort than his need to find out what is in her eye. I know many of her other doctors would have already been cutting at her to see what it is. There is no need in it. Removing it will not fix it, she still won't be able to see. Her other eye continues to have perfect 20/20 vision.

She had her 2 1/2 yr check up at the clinic. Everything was fine. I heard a lot more "We don't knows" when I asked about somethings that have been going on with her. All they knew for sure is that her counts were good and then referred me to a bunch of other doctors.

Back to School Soon PDF Print Write e-mail

Summer has gone by quickly and pretty much very quitely. I hate to say it but we have only had one ear infection since summer began. The ear specialist had given Jacey some meds to try to keep the fluid from building up and they seem to be working. They were not supposed to be a long term fix but we all hate the thought of putting Jacey through yet another surgery.

Jacey was very excited that she was able to get her braces on about a month ago. She has wanted them for as long as she can remember. I have to say that I am somewhat amazed at how quickly her teeth have began to straighten out. I guess I was just expecting it to be like Justin's mouth and take forever as he has been in braces for about 4 yrs now and we are just starting to see a change.

Of course Jacey's body gave us yet another surprise and the orthodontist wants us to have 4 adult teeth pulled. Jacey nor I am thrilled about this. She is going to talk with them next time she goes in and see what else they can do. She only got 3 rubber bands on her braces but stayed true to her word and got them in Massillon Tiger colors in memory of her dear friend Tyler.

A while back Phil had traded a car that the insurance company totaled for a boat. He has been taking the kids tubing a lot this summer and they really enjoy it. Seems like a silly thing to do but it brings them great joy.

It is time for Jacey to head to the clinic for her check up soon. I have not missed going there. It is nice that we don't have to go hardly at all anymore. I have been putting off calling and making the appointment because I would rather not go at all. I know it is silly  but I hate it there. I hate what they might say and I don't think that will ever change.

I got the nightly call from Jacey and she seemed to be cheerful tonight. She said she had a lot of fun today. She learned how to knit and went out on the lake again today. She said they let her drive the boat today. She said she is good at driving things so maybe she will be good at driving a car. She also reported that she did karaoke! You will never guess what she sang....Jesse Jesse Jesse. I just can't imagine Jacey letting lose this much around others. I am so happy she is having fun and that others are getting to see the Jacey that we love so much.

We had a short visit with Jacey yesterday. We didn't want to stay long because it was only making her want to come home. She told us about all the fun stuff she was going to do today. While we were there they were having a dance party and I hear that Jacey was doing the electric slide.

She MADE IT! PDF Print Write e-mail

The fear off being away from home struck lastnight and Jacey had a tough time but managed to get through it. Many thanks to her buddy Suzie and camp director for helping her get through it.

We are going to see her today and take her a few things that might help her feel a little better about being away. I talked with her a little for a bit today and she wasn't demanding to come home just wanted a few things. They were getting ready to go horseback riding when I talked to her and she was looking forward to that.

I know she can do it and I am so proud of her for making it through lastnight because I know how hard it is for her. I am sure we will get a few pictures while we are there today so come back to see them.

We got Jacey off to camp. She told us to turn the car around as we were pulling in...ha ha. She seemed fine after a few minutes and we meet up with her companion Suzie.

Suzie began to tell her about all the fun stuff they could do at camp and Jacey became much more comfortable and I could see her face lighting up with excitement.

After getting checked in we were off to the cabin where Suzie had a special bag wanting for Jacey.

We got Jacey's bed made up and I was about to cry. I have never left my baby girl somewhere before.

So it was time for us to go.

Jacey said she would call me tonight and Jacey was smiling a happy as we pulled away.

Check back tomorrow as I will be posting the camp schedule daily and the updates Jacey gives me about what a great time she is having!

Camp Quality Here I come! PDF Print Write e-mail

Jacey has been having a good summer and has kept me busy. She is leaving for camp tomorrow and is still pretty excited about it. They do a lot of fun stuff at camp and the best part is Jacey will have a companion that is with her all the time. This is perfect for Jacey because she is still not to thrilled about being away from home. She is looking forward to so many things. They are going to go swimming, go karting, horseback riding, scuba dive (Yippee the doctor gave her the okay), make movies and I think what Jacey has been the most excited about is the prom! We got to go dress shopping and Jacey fell in love with her dress. I put up the pictures of the 3 she had to choose from so see if you can guess which on she picked.

The other day I put some purple highlights in her hair...well she got in the pool and they turned pink. :) Jacey has never been a pink girl so she was less than thrilled. I took her to get her hair cut and she talked me into letting her get them turned blue. So in less than 2 days she went from purple to pink to blue. She loved her new hair cut and the blue hair. I personally thought the pink looked really nice but I don't get a vote.

I am going to miss her but I am glad she is happy about going. Justin pointed out that this is good practice since she will be going to 6th grade camp when school starts. I have been worried about her being able to handle that since she started 4th grade so this is probably a really good thing.
